Pop's Playground, located at Trenton & Hazzard, was alive with DJ’s blasting tunes, neighborhood kids playing in a moon bounce, and hot dogs being served with all the fixings. Was this a simple block party? Much more than that, this was Healthy Neighborhood Nights!, an opportunity for neighbors to come out and get to know one another as well as receive invaluable resources from over a dozen organizations in the health and wellness industries.





This event, which took place Thursday, August 5th, 2010, was sponsored by the NKCDC Neighborhood Advisory Commitee (NAC) and the Kensington Area Neighborhood Advisory Committee (KANAC). With the help of numerous volunteers and neighbors, this free event provided assistance to over 140 Kensington residents.





Participants include: Independence Blue Cross , Health Partners, Philadelphia Corp. for Aging, Aetna, PGW, Concilio, Sustainable 19125, North Philly Weed & Seed, Fresh Start, Focus on Fathers, Cedar Street Studio, NKCDC, and more.



This event built off the success of KANAC’s Community Health Fairs, which offered the same services to the community through a series of three event held the previous summer.
