NKCDC is not hiring for any staff positions at the moment. However, as a partner in an exciting Porch Light project, we are looking for community artists and a project coordinator.
About Porch Light
This spring a new Porch Light space will open at 2774 Kensington Avenue, near the Somerset El stop. Porch Light is an innovative partnership of Mural Arts and the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services, working with NKCDC, Prevention Point and Impact Services to create a community space where neighbors create art and connect with resources to live a better, healthier life. Public art, economic development, and behavioral health programming will be provided at the space to members of the Kensington community.
Porch Light Community Artists will offer community members the opportunity to reflect on their experiences, build relationships with their neighbors, and learn how to create different kinds of art. We are especially interested in public engagement that uses art to help participants cope with and recover from trauma. Learn more and apply through Mural Arts.
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the daily function and maintenance of the space, event planning and execution, and facilitating community engagement. The Project Coordinator will report to both the Porch Light Program Director and the Porch Light Project Manager. Learn more and apply through Mural Arts.
