NKCDC is not hiring for any staff positions at the moment. However, as a partner in two exciting collaborative projects, we are looking for community artists and trauma-informed curriculum developers.
Porch Light is an innovative partnership between Mural Arts Philadelphia and the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services.
This spring a new Porch Light space will open at 2774 Kensington Avenue, near the Somerset El stop. Porch Light is working with NKCDC, Prevention Point and Impact Services to create a community space where neighbors can create art and connect with resources to live a better, healthier life.
Porch Light Community Artists will offer community members the opportunity to reflect on their experiences, build relationships with their neighbors, and learn how to create different kinds of art. We are especially interested in public engagement that uses art to help participants cope with and recover from trauma. Learn more and apply through Mural Arts.
